CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF
CONTRACTS FOR THE SEISMIC UPGRADE
OF THE GRAND AVENUE LIBRARY
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco, that:
1. The following contracts relating to the Seismic Upgrade of the
Grand Avenue Library are authorized to be awarded on behalf of the City of
South San Francisco.
a)
Award of a construction contract for seismic strengthening
to Chiang C.M. Construction, Inc., San Francisco, in an
amount not to exceed $486,400.
b)
Award special inspection and testing contract to Signet
Testing Labs, Hayward, for library inspection services only
in an amount not to exceed $10,000.
c)
Award of a book moving contract to NOR-CAL Moving Services,
San Leandro in an amount not to exceed $15,697.50.
¢)
Award a change order to Degenkolb Engineers to provide
support services for the Library seismic strengthening, in
an amount not to exceed $24,170,000.
2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute all
contracts on behalf of the City of South San Francisco.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at
a re§u]ar meeting held on the llth day of September , 1996 by the following
