RESOLUTION NO. 113-95
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT TO JAMES CHALMERS IN THE AMOUNT
OF $44,385 FOR THE CITY HALL AND GRAND
AVENUE LIBRARY DRAINAGE PROJECTS.
WHEREAS, after rains have saturated the ground, water enters
the southwest corner of the basement in city Hall; and
WHEREAS, installation of subsurface drains would prevent water
from entering the basement; and
WHEREAS, ~he Grand Avenue Library also has rain water entering
the building ~ue to plugged and undersized drains; and
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized advertisement for
construction bids on September 13, 1995; and
WHEREAS, James Chalmers submitted the lowest bid; and
WHEREAS, staff has determined that James Chalmers is a
qualified bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San F~ancisco that:
The City i Council hereby approves award of a construction
contract to James Chalmers in an amount not to exceed $44,385 for
the City Hall and Grand Avenue Library Drainage Projects. The city
Council further authorizes the City Manager to prepare and sign a
contract implementing this award.
