CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE
PRQVISION OF WORKER'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE
COVERACE FOR PERSONS PERFO INC VOLUNTARY
sERVICE
WHEREASi certain city departments are interested in operating
programs that would utilize volunteers; and
WHEREAS,i volunteers serve without pay, do not fit into an
employer-employee relationship and are not typically covered by the
City's Worke~"s Compensation Program; and
WHEREAS, Labor Code §3363.5 authorizes cities to include
volunteers w~.thin the definition of employees for purposes of
inclusion in the Worker's Compensation coverage system; and
WHEREAS,~ the City has determined that it is in the best
interest to have persons performing voluntary service covered by
its Worker's Compensation Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San ~rancisco, that pursuant to Labor Code §3363.5, it
hereby approves the provision of Worker's Compensation Insurance
coverage for persons performing voluntary service on behalf of the
City of South
