HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 28-1996 RESOLUTION NO. 28-96 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP 95-22) TO REPLACE BAR SCREENS FOR THE SAN MATEO AND SHAW ROAD PUMP STATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $500,000 AND AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO N.V. HEATHORN, INC. OF OAKLAND, CA. FOR A FEE NOT TO EXCEED $412,288 TO PROCEED WITH THE PROJECT WHEREAS, the mechanically cleaned bar screens for the San Mateo and Shaw Road pump stations are no longer efficient in removing the debris due to age and availability of parts; and WHEREAS, the bar screens will be replaced with comminutors which will grind up the debris allowing it to pass through the pumps freely; and WHEREAS, funding for the project will come from the Sewer Enterprise Fund, of which $60,000 was approved in the 1993-94 Sewer Capital Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, an additional amount of $500,000 from the Sewer Enterprise Fund will be required to cover the actual bid price for construction, contingency and construction management; and WHEREAS, the firm of N.V. Heathorn, Inc. of Oakland, CA. has been selected for a fee not to exceed $412,288 to cover the actual bid price for construction on this project. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the city Council of the city of South San Francisco that: 1. It hereby authorizes and approves amendment CIP 95-22 to the 1994-1995 Capital Improvement Program in the amount of $500,000 to replace the bar screens at the San Mateo and Shaw Road Pump Stations. 2. It hereby authorizes and approves award of contract to N.V. Heathorn, Inc. of Oakland, CA. in an amount not to exceed $412,288 to cover the actual bid price for construction for this project. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the city Council of the City of South San Francisco at a re§u]ar meeting held on the 27th day of March , 1996 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Eugene R.
