HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 44-1996RESOLUTION NO. 44-96 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING CIP 95-25 TO THE 1994-1995 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM TO CONVERT CHLORINE GAS FACILITIES TO SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE AND AWARDING A CHANGE ORDER TO CAROLLO ENGINEERS CONTRACT FOR THE WATER QUALITY CONTROL PLANT AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISING FOR CONSTRUCTION BIDS AS SOON AS THE PLANS ARE COMPLETED WHEREAS, the Water Quality Control Plant existing disinfection system, which uses chlorine gas with sodium hypochlorite is substandard by present day requirements; and WHEREAS, an amendment to the Capital Improvement Program in the amount of $500,000 will be necessary to convert the chlorine gas facilities to a Sodium Hypochlorite based facility for the Water Quality Control plant; and WHEREAS, an additional amount not to exceed $50,000 is necessary for Carollo Engineers to prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates for the project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco as follows: 1. It hereby authorizes and approves a transfer of $500,000 from the Sewer Enterprise Fund to the 1994-1995 Capital Improvement Program (CIP 95-25) to convert chlorine gas facilities to hypochlorite facilities for the Water Quality Control Plant. 2. It hereby awards a change order to Carollo Engineers in an amount not to exceed $50,000 to prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates and authorize advertising for construction bids for the Water Quality Control plant. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a requ]ar meeting held on the 10th day of April , 1996 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A. Fernekes, Eugene R. Mullin. Robert Yee and Mayor Jack Drago NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: cip-25.wQc Councilmember John R. Penna ATTEST:
