HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 71-1996RESOLUTION NO. 71-96 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS, STATIONARY ENGINEERS, LOCAL 39 AFL-CIO FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 1996 THROUGH DECEMBER 31. 1996 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco has recognized Local 39 as the employee organization representing a majority of those employees working in classifications in representation Unit D; and WHEREAS, the representatives of the City and the representatives of Local 39 have personally met and conferred and freely exchanged information, opinions and proposals; and WHEREAS, the representatives of the City and Local 39 have reached agreement on those wages and conditions of employment which are to be in effect during the period January 1, 1996 through December 31, 1996 for employees in representation Unit D; and WHEREAS, the City's representative recommends that the agreement be accepted and approved by the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city Council of the city of South San Francisco that it hereby accepts and approves the agreement between the City of South San Francisco and Local 39, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", which sets forth those wages and conditions of employment to be in effect during the period January 1, 1996 through December 31, 1996 for employees in representation Unit D, which will be binding upon the city, Local 39 and the employees covered therein. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of Ma~ , 1996, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A. Fernekes, Eugene R. Mullin, John R. P~.nna, Robert Yee and Mayor Jack Drago NOES: ABSTAIN: Nnnm ABSENT: None Loca139.Agt ATTEST: Ii I il RESOLUTION NO. 71-96 CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO EXHIBIT A AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS, STATIONARY ENGINEERS LOCAL 39, AFL-CIO CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO The parties having met and negotiated pursuant to Government Code Section 3500 et seq. do hereby agree to the following changes to the Memorandum of Understanding dated March 5, 1991, as amended February 22, 1995 in the terms and conditions of employment from the date of this agreement to December 31, 1996. 1. Term: January 1, 1996- December 31, 1996 2. Retirement: Article 6, Section C is revised to add as follows: 1. Retirement Plan: Retirement benefits for employees shall be those established by the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) for Miscellaneous Employees 2 % at Age 55 Plan.
