CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A CALIFORNIA LIBRARY
SERVICES ACT GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA STATE
LIBRARY FOR $28,844.00' AND APPROVING BUDGET
AMENDMENT NO. 95-6 TO THE 1994-1995 OPERATING
BUDGET
WHEREAS, the California State Library Services Act makes grant
funds to local libraries; and
WHEREAS, said funds will be utilized for a "Learner Support
and Leadership Development" project for adult learners in Project
Read; and
WHEREAS, grant funds in the amount of $28,844.00 have been
approved by the California State Library for the South San
Francisco Library programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco as follows:
1. The City Manager, on behalf of the City of South San
Francisco, is hereby authorized to accept a grant in the amount of
$28,844.00 from the California State Library and execute any and
all documents necessary to receive such grant.
2. The amount of $24,124.00 will be utilized to offset
personnel and operating costs, already included in the current
budget.
3. A budget amendment in the amount of $4,720.00 is
appropriated to pay for additional operations costs and for learner
support services, including workshops, classes and career
counseling assistance.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting held on the llth day of
January , 1995 by the following vote:

Councilmembers Jack Drago, John R. Penna, Roberta Cerri Teglia.
and Mayor Robert Yee
