CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF DESIGN CONTRACT TO UPGRADE SIGNALS AT THE INTERSECTION OF LINDEN/BADEN AVENUES AND TO PROVIDE SIGNAL INTERCONNECT PROJECTS ON WESTBOROUGH BOULEVARD AND AIRPORT BOULEVARD WHEREAS, the Linden/Baden Avenues project was submitted for a grant through the ISTEA program on March 12, 1993; and WHEREAS, on July 14, 1993 the City Council adopted Resolution No. 88-93 indicating their commitment to proceed with the project if the grant was approved; and WHEREAS, in January 1995 the project was approved by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) in a funding amount of $167,300; and WHEREAS, on April 26, 1995 the City Council adopted Resolution No. 23-94 indicating commitment to proceed with the project; and WHEREAS, funding for the design portion of the Linden/Baden Avenues project of $18,000 will come from the ISTEA grant of $167,300 and from the 1994-95 Capital Improvement Program which authorized $33,000 for local matching funds. WHEREAS, the Westborough Boulevard Signal Interconnect project, from Junipero Serra Boulevard to Skyline Boulevard was submitted to Caltrans in October 1994 and in February 1995 this project was approved by the california Transportation Commission (CTC); and WHEREAS, the Airport Boulevard Signal Interconnect was submitted for inclusion in October 1994 and was approved by CTC in February 1995; and WHEREAS, funding for the design portions of the Westborough Boulevard and Airport Boulevard projects ($10,000 and $17,000 respectively) will come from State grants. WHEREAS, request for proposals went to five firms and the firm of Patterson Associates of San Mateo was selected as being the most qualified. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with Patterson Associates of San Mateo to prepare plans, specifications and estimates in an amount not to exceed Forty Five Thousand Dollars ($45,000) to upgrade signals at Linden/Baden Avenues and the Signal Interconnect projects on Westborough Boulevard and Airport Boulevard. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 24th day of May , 1995 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Jack Drago, Joseph A.
