HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 69-1995RESOLUTION NO. 69-95 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT 95-10 TO THE 1994-1995 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET FOR REMOVAL OF CONTAMINATED SOIL AND INSTALLATION OF ABOVE GROUND FUEL TANK AT FIRE STATION NO. 4 WHEREAS, a single wall underground diesel tank was removed from Fire Station No. 4 in November 1993; and WHEREAS,-the excavated material was put back in the excavated hole and tests indicated that the soil is contaminated; and WHEREAS, in September 1994 the City retained Accutite Environmental Engineering to prepare a plan which was submitted to the San Mateo County Health Services Agency calling for removal of the soil to a Class II or Class III landfill, depending on the extent of the contamination; and WHEREAS, this plan was approved in November 1994; and WHEREAS, Fire Station No. 4 has been without a fuel tank since November 1993 requiring the fire engines to go to the fire station in the Terrabay development area or to the Central fire station to refuel; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco as follows: 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the addition of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000) to the 1994-1995 Capital Improvement Program to cover costs associated with the removal of contaminated soil, installation of a new 500 gallon above ground fuel tank and construction contingency and construction management for this project. 2. The City Council hereby authorizes advertisement for bids for this project. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 26th day of ,1,J]y , 1995 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A. Fernekes, Roberta Cerri Teglia and Mayor Robert Yee NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: CIP-IO.Fir Councilmembers Jack Drago and John R. Penna
