CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR REPLACEMENT OF BAR SCREENS - SAN MATEO
AVENUE AND SHAW ROAD PUMP STATIONS
WHEREAS, the mechanically cleaned bar screens for the San
Mateo and Shaw Road pump stations are no longer efficient and in
need of replacement with comminutors to grind up the debris so it
can pass through the pumps without jamming; and
WHEREAS, five pumps operate from one wet well and cleaning the
wet well would require that the Shaw Road pump station would be
shut down; and
WHEREAS, this project will include partitioning the wet well
at Shaw Road and installing new comminutors at both pump stations
to keep the wet wells clean of debris;
WHEREAS, the firm of Metcalf & Eddy, Palo Alto has been
selected for the design of this project in an amount not to exceed
$65,000; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco that:
1. It hereby authorizes award of a contract to the firm of
Metcalf & Eddy in an amount not to exceed sixty Five Thousand
Dollars for design of this project.
2. It hereby authorizes advertisement for construction bids
as soon as the design is completed.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of
August , 1995 by the following vote:

Councilmembers Jack Draqo, Joseph A. Fernekes, John R. Penna,
Roberta Cerri Teqlia and Mayor Robert Yee
