CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RE-ADVERTISING OF
CONSTRUCTION BIDS FOR THE CITY HALL AND
GRAND AVENUE LIBRARY DRAINAGE PROJECT
WHEREAS, during the winter months and after rains have
saturated the ground, water enters the basement area City Hall; and
WHEREAS, rainwater enters the Grand Avenue Library building
due to plugged and undersized drains as well as flooding to the
walkways between the two buildings; and
WHEREAS, bids previously presented on this project were not
awarded as it was decided to combine the project with the seismic
upgrade project and do City Hall and Grand Avenue Library work
under one contract; and
WHEREAS, after the 1989 earthquake, the amount of water
entering the basement of City Hall appeared to become more severe
and serious safety problems have arisen requiring that the drainage
project be bid separately; and
WHEREAS, funding for the project will come from the Seismic
Upgrade project for City Hall ($2,180,000) and the Seismic Upgrade
project for Grand Avenue Library ($800,000).
WHEREAS, the budget for each of these projects included funds
for the drainage project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco, that it hereby authorizes re-advertising of
the project for construction bids for the City Hall and the Grand
Avenue Library Drainage Project.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 13th day of
September , 1995, by the following vote:
