HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 96-1995RESOLUTION NO. 96-95 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT 95-13 TO THE 1994-1995 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET TO RESTORE THE STORM DAMAGED SLOPE ON JUNIPERO SERRA BLVD. WHEREAS, during the January 27, 1995 storm a section of the slope above Junipero Serra Blvd. slid down onto the street; and WHEREAS, City forces removed the debris and the unstable material that remained on the slope was covered with plastic to prevent further damage or road blockage; and WHEREAS, application was made to FEMA who offered to pay $1,740 toward the repair which was contested by staff; and WHEREAS, the State Office of Emergency Services then asked Caltrans to review the area; and WHEREAS, through Caltrans and further discussion it was determined that the Boulevard remains part of the Federal Highway Systems; and WHEREAS, both Caltrans and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) reviewed and accepted the City's application for funds to make the repairs. WHEREAS, to obtain funding of 80% the City must do the repairs and present all costs to FHWA for reimbursement; and WHEREAS, the remaining 20% of the costs will be borne by the adjoining property owner who owns the upper portion of the slope. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco as follows: 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the addition of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000) to the 1994-1995 Capital Improvement Program (Amendment 95-12) to restore the storm damaged slope on Junipero Serra Blvd. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 13th day of September , 1995 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Jack Drago, Joseph A.
