CITY COUNCIL. CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS
OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON SEPTEMBER 12. 1995
WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election was held in the City of South San Francisco on
September 12, 1995 pursuant to Resolution No. 49-95 to submit a measure to the voters; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk presented to the City Council for its inspection all returns of the votes
cast, pursuant to Elections Code Sections 15300 et seq.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that it finds:
1. That there were 23,397 registered voters in the City of South San Francisco and that
10,482 votes were cast.
2. That Measure "A", entitled "Shall the South San Francisco General Plan and Municipal
Code be amended as proposed to allow a card club in the area of South San Francisco East of Highway
101 and North of Oyster Point Boulevard at or near the Shearwater/U.S. Steel site, at which games
permitted by law such as draw-poker, low-ball poker and panguingue (Pan) are played and to increase
regulation of card clubs?", was defeated by a vote of 5,846 against (55.66%) and 4,631 for (44.18%).
3. That the record of votes cast as shown by the official count of the votes cast at each of
the several precincts established throughout the City and of the votes cast by absentee ballot is as detailed
on the tabulation of the votes, attached as Exhibit "A".
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco at a re§ul ar meeting held on the 27th:lay of September
1995, by the following vote:
AYES: CmJncilmembers Jack Drago, Joseph A. Fernekes, John R. Penna,
Roberta Cerri Teglia and Mayor Robert Yee

ABSTAIN: NOne
None
