CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXTENSION
OF THE TERM OF THE CURRENT WESTERN TV
CABLE FRANCHISE AGREEMENT ON A MONTH
TO MONTH BASIS UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT
A NEW FRANCHISE AGREEMENT IS SUBMITTED
WHEREAS, on August 20, 1980 the city Council adopted Ordinance
No. 835-80 which provided Western TV Cable with a renewal of a non-
exclusive franchise to construct, operate and maintain a cable
television system in the city for a term of fifteen (15) years; and
WHEREAS, the effective date of the franchise agreement was
October 1, 1980; and
WHEREAS, in November the City will be presenting a new cable
television ordinance for Council consideration which should be
adopted prior to approval of the franchise agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City is currently negotiating with Western TV
Cable to renew their existing franchise agreement; and
WHEREAS, as the new draft franchise agreement must be fully
reviewed before being submitted to Council for consideration, a
final agreement is not expected to be executed until approximately
the end of 1995.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco as follows:
1. The current franchise agreement with Western TV Cable is
to be extended on a month-to-month basis until such time that a new
franchise agreement is submitted for consideration and approval.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the city of South San
Francisco at a r~gular meeting held on the ?7th day of
