Home My WebLink AboutReso 57-1994-- RESOLUTION NO. 57-94 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF A FUNDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE BAY AREA AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, PENDING B.A.A.Q.M.D. APPROVAL, FOR REPLACEMENT OF A DIESEL POWERED STREET SWEEPER WITH A COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS FUELED SWEEPER WHEREAS, Assembly Bill AB 434 (Transportation Fund for Clean Air in the Bay Area) authorizes the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (B.A.A.Q.M.D.) to allocate funds to public agencies to implement projects to reduce air pollution from motor vehicles; and WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco proposes to replace a diesel powered street sweeper with a compressed natural gas fueled sweeper and has requested funding for this project through the B.A.A.Q.M.D. program; and WHEREAS, the City has been notified that the B.A.A.Q.M.D. is evaluating the City's application to determine that the reduction of air pollutants, cost effectiveness, and meeting of other application criterion warrants granting the funds; and WHEREAS, if the City's application is approved, B.A.A.Q.M.D. will provide funding in the amount of $88,727 for this project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South Francisco that pending approval of the City's application to replace a diesel powered street sweeper with a compressed natural gas fueled sweeper the funding agreement for the this project is hereby approved, and the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents necessary to secure the Grant Funds. A copy of the agreement is on file in the Office of the City Clerk. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the city Council of the City of South San Francisco at a re.~u]ar meeting held on the 25th day of May , 1994 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Jack Dra~!o, Oohn R.
