CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT
94-7 TO THE 1993-1994 OPERATING BUDGET
AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE SLURRY
SEAL PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City solicited competitive bids for its yearly
maintenance plan to maintain streets as outlined in the Pavement
Management System; and
WHEREAS, the Slurry Seal surface treatment is a process which
prolongs the life of the pavement; and
WHEREAS, American Asphalt Repair & Resurfacing Co., Inc. of
Redwood City was the most responsive and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, funds for this Program are provided for in the Public
Works Operating Budget for 1993-1994; and
WHEREAS, $250,000 was also appropriated in the same budget
program for street resurfacing and a contract has been awarded; and
WHEREAS, the city is anticipating an additional $56,000 State
grant to expand the scope of work for the street resurfacing
portion of this budget program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco as follows:
1. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to
enter into a contract with American Asphalt Repair & Resurfacing
Co., Inc. in the amount of Twenty Nine Thousand Two Hundred Forty
Six Dollars and Fifty Seven Cents ($29,246.57) for the Slurry Seal
Project.
2. The City Council hereby authorizes approving a budget
amendment for an additional amount of Fifty Six Thousand Dollars
($56,000) in anticipation of receiving the State Grant next fiscal
year.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a re§u]ar meeting held on the 22nd day of
June , 1994 by the following vote:

Robert Yee and Mayor Joseph A. Fernekes
