CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 128-80
AND DELEGATING THE AUTHORITY TO ADOPT POLICE
DEPARTMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS MANUALS TO
THE CHIEF OF POLICE AND CITY MANAGER
WHEREAS, the South San Francisco Police Department operates,
in part, pursuant to a set of departmental rules and regulations;
and
WHEREAS, it becomes necessary, from time to time, to amend
those regulations; and
WHEREAS, such regulations are consistent with the City's
Personnel Rules and Regulations; and
WHEREAS, on November 5, 1980 the City Council adopted
Resolution No. 128-80 approving the "South San Francisco Police
Department Rules and Regulations Manual, 1980 Edition"; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City and efficient
operation of the Department to have the regulations adopted by the
Chief of Police; and
WHEREAS, the 1980 Edition of the Rules and Regulations have
been revised and are ready for adoption.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco as follows:
1. Resolution No. 128-80 and the South San Francisco Rules
and Regulations Manual, 1980 Edition are hereby repealed.
2. The power to adopt, repeal, modify and amend Police
Department Rules and Regulations Manuals is hereby expressly
delegated to the Chief of Police.
3. New Rules and Regulations Manuals and amendments thereto
for the South San Francisco Police Department shall become
effective when the same are executed by the Chief of Police and
City Manager.
4. This Resolution shall become effective upon the adoption
of a 1994 Rules and Regulation Manual by the Police Department and
City Manager.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 22nd day
of
June , 1993 by the following vote:
