HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 88-1993RESOLUTION NO. 88-93 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO PROVIDE MATCHING FUNDS FOR PROPOSED TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND STREET RESURFACING PROJECT GRANTS WHEREAS, the city of South San Francisco has applied and has been recommended for Six Hundred Thirty Nine Thousand Dollars ($639,000.00) in Federal Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) funds for projects in the 1995 Transportation Improvement Program to be adopted by the MetropoLitan Transportation Commission; and WHEREAS, local matching funds in the amount of One Hundred Seventy Six Thousand Four Hundred Thirteen Dollars ($176,413.00) will be provided by the City of South San Francisco; and WHEREAS, a prerequisite for inclusion in the Transportation Improvement Program is adoption of a resolution indicating commitment to proceed with the projects, if the grants are approved; and WHEREAS, the funds, if awarded, would be utilized for the followir.g projects: Linden/Baden Avenue intersection - traffic signal modification; Street Resurfacing (Junipero Serra Boulevard, between Avalon Drive and Hickey Boulevard; East Grand Avenue between Grandview Drive and Haskins Way). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the city of South San Francisco, California that: 1. One Hundred Seventy Six Thousand Four Hundred Thirteen Dollars ($176,413.00) in local matching funds will be provided by the City of South San Francisco. The source of the matching funds shall be subject to the adoption of a budget by the city Council of the City of South San Francisco. 2. The projects will be built as described and approved by the City Council. 3. The City of South San Francisco understands that the ISTEA funding is fixed at $639,000 and therefore any cost increases cannot be expected to be funded with ISTEA funds. 4. The City Manager is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to assure that the city obtains and appropriately expends such funds. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 14th day of July , 1993 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Jack Drago, Joseph A.
