HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 107-1993RESOLUTION NO. 107-93 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO APPOINTING BARBARA A. BATTAYA TO THE OFFICE OF CITY CLERK WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority of Elections Code §§23302.5 and 22843.5, the City Council is authorized to cancel a general municipal election if by 5:00 p.m. on the 88th day prior to the day fixed for the election all incumbent office holders have filed nomination papers and the number of persons who have been nominated does not exceed the number of offices to be filled; and WHEREAS, as of 5:00 p.m. on August 6, 1993, the 88th day prior to the November 2, 1993 general municipal election all of the incumbent office holders of South San Francisco had filed their nominating papers; and WHEREAS, Barbara A. Battaya submitted the appropriate nominating papers and the signatures thereon have been verified by the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, the number of persons nominated does not exceed the number of offices to be filled; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that Barbara A. Battaya is hereby appointed City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco for a term of four (4) years commencing November 2, 1993. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Barbara A. Battaya shall qualify, take office and serve exactly as if elected at a municipal election for the office. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a sDecia] meeting held on the 19th day of August , 1993 by the following vote.
