CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A CALIFORNIA LIBRARY
SERVICES ACT GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA STATE
LIBRARY FOR $28,440.00 AND APPROVING BUDGET
AMENDMENT NO. 94-1 TO THE 1993-1994 OPERATING
BUDGET
WHEREAS, the California State Library Services Act makes grant
funds available to local libraries; and
WHEREAS, said funds will be utilized for a "Learner Support
and Leadership Development" project for adult learners in Project
Read; and
WHEREAS, grant funds in the amount of $28,440.00 have been
approved by the California State Library for the South San
Francisco Library programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco as follows:
1. The City Manager, on behalf of the City of South San
Francisco, is hereby authorized to accept a grant in the amount of
$28,440.D0 from the California State Library and execute any and
all documents necessary to receive such grant.
2. The amount of $20,000.00 is appropriated to the Library's
operating budget to be utilized for personnel costs.
3. The amount of $1,000 is appropriated for existing
operations costs.
4. A budget amendment in the amount of $7,440.00 is
appropriated to offset additional costs of workshops, printing and
materials specific to carrying out the grant activities.
5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
adoption.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a re§u]ar~ meeting held on the 22nd day of
September , 1993 by the following vote:

Councilmembers Jack Drago, Joseph A. Fernekes, John R. Penna,
Robert Yee, and Mayor Roberta Cerri Teglia
