CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING GENERAL PLAN
AMENDMENT NO. GP-93-49 - CAR WASHES
WHEREAS, on December 2, 1993 the Planning Commission of the
city of South San Francisco adopted General Plan Amendment GP-93-49
attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, adopting of GP-93-49 will allow car washes in certain
areas of the Planned Commercial Land Use Category, and will make
minor changes to the text of the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that sufficient
evidence had been submitted to support a finding that this policy
change wSll not be adverse to the public health, safety or general
welfare of the community nor detrimental to fish and wildlife
resources; and
WHEREAS, the General Plan Amendment is consistent with the
goals, objectives, policies, elements of the General Plan, zoning
ordinances and redevelopment plans.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco that it hereby adopts GP-93-49 as indicated
on ExhibSt "A" attached hereto. This resolution shall take effect
concurrently with ZA-93-85.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a reQu]ar meeting held on the 9th day of
February , 1994 by the following vote:

Councilmembers Jack Draqo, John R. Penna, Roberta Cerri Teglia,
Robert Yee and Mayor Joseph A. Fernekes

Amend the General Plan Land Use Element by adding Policy 29a which
reads as follows:
~dd: Self-Service car washes
Policy 29a A self-service car wash is an appropriate land
use only along South Spruce Avenue within the Planned Commercial
(P-C) areas.
