HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 24-1994RESOLUTION NO. 24-94 CITY CCUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE REMOVAL OF CONTAMINATED SOIL - OYSTER POINT INTERCHANGE WHEREAS, during the construction of the Oyster Point Interchange approximately 5,000 tons of contaminated soils have been discovered and temporarily stockpiled, as required by project specifications; and WHEREAS, separate bids were requested contractors to dispose of the soil; and from specialty WHEREAS, the project specifications allow the contractor to choose either off-haul to a proper disposal site or remediate on- site; and WHEREAS, the low bid is based upon off-hauling all contaminated soil to Mechanical Waste Management Site in Kettlemen City and Gibson Environmental Site in Fresno. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city Council of the City of South San Francisco, that: 1. The Council hereby awards the contract for the removal of contaminated soil from the Oyster Point Interchange Project to the lowest responsible bidder, Ned Pepper, Inc. in the amount of Five Hundred Thirty Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Forty Eight Dollars ($539,948), and authorizes the city Manager to sign the agreement with Ned Pepper, Inc., which is on file in the office of the City Clerk. i 2. The Council hereby rejects all other proposals or bids. 3. Funding will be provided through the Capital Improvement Program for this project. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a re§u]ar meeting held on the 23rd day of February , 1994 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Jack Drago, Roberta Cerri Teglia, Robert Yee and Mayor Joseph A. Fernekes NOES: N0ne ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: Councilmember John R. Penna
