HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 83-1992RESOLUTION NO. 83-92 CITY CO-3NCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ASSESSMENT OF COSTS FOR ABATEMENT OF ABANDONED VEHICLES WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 8.48 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code, the Police Department is authorized to abate public nuisances by having abandoned vehicles on private property towed away; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code §38773.5 and South San Francisco Municipal Code §8.48.150 the City may charge the costs of abatement to the property owner and if the owner does not pay, the amount may be made an assessment against the property to be collected as other property taxes; and WHEREAS, the following abatements were conducted pursuant to this autkority and remain unpaid: 1) Owner: APN: Address: Date of Abatement: Cost: One-Eleven Properties 013-241-100 415 E1 Camino Real June 24, 1991 $235.00 2) Owner: APN: Address: Date of Abatement: Cost: Mr. Milton Steffens 012-232-690 636 Commercial Avenue August 20, 1991 $235.00 NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that: 1) The costs of abatement listed above are assessed against the respective property owners. 2) The City Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the San Mateo Controller who is hereby authorized to add the assessments to the FY 1992-93 property tax roll. 3) The San Mateo County Tax Collector is hereby authorized to collect the assessments in the same manner as all other property taxes. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 22nd day of July , 1992 by the following vote. AYES: Councilmembers Jack Drago, Joseph A. Fernekes, Roberta Cerri Teglia, Robert Yee, and Mayor JOhn R. Penna NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: None
