CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR THE CITY
HALL EXTERIOR PAINTING AND GRAND AVENUE LIBRARY
PARKING LOT DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to the call for bids as provided in
Resolution No. 42-92 nine (9) bids were received on the project
consisting of the exterior painting of City Hall (Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the call for bids as provided in
Resolution No. 38-92 seven (7) bids were received on the project
consisting of the City Hall and Grand Avenue Library Parking Lot
Drainage Improvements (Exhibit "B"); and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the call for bids funds became
available to undertake a project to retrofit City Hall so that it
meets the State's seismic safety requirements; and
WHEREAS, the City Hall painting and parking lot drainage
projects are not consistent with the seismic safety project; and
WHEREAS, it would be a waste of public funds to undertake the
painting and parking lot drainage projects prior to completing the
seismic safety project.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco, pursuant to the authority contained in Public Contracts
Code §20166 and the Notice to Bidders, resolves as follows:
1. Ail of the bids contained in Exhibit "A" relating to the
City Hall Exterior Painting Project are hereby rejected.
2. Ail of the bids contained in Exhibit "B" relating to City
Hall and Grand Avenue Library Parking Lot Drainage Improvements
Project are hereby rejected.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the city of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 12th day of
August , 1992 by the following vote:

Teglia, Robert Yee, and Mayor John R. Penna
