HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 145-1992RESOLUTION NO. 145-92 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FINALIZATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, THE COMPLETION OF THE DESIGN WORK, AND AUTHORIZING THE WORK AND CALLING BIDS FOR THE OYSTER POINT INTERCHANGE PROJECT WHEREAS, plans and specifications providing improvement work are being completed, which specifications are entitled: for certain plans and OYSTER POINT INTERCHANGE PROJECT BID NO. #1873 PROJECT NO. ST-86-3 WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the work and call for sealed proposals; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city Council of the City of South San Francisco, that: 1. The work provided for in the plans and specifications identified above is hereby authorized. 2. The Chief Accountant is hereby directed to publish a notice irviting sealed proposals or bids for the work in accordance with the plans and specifications on file in the Purchasing Office. Notice shall be published at least twice not less than five (5) days apart in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of South San Francisco. The first publication of the notice shall be at least ten (10) days before the date of opening of the bids. Ail proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check payable to the order of the City of South San Francisco in an amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid figure, or by a bond in the amount drawn in favor of the City and executed by a corporate surety. The check shall be forfeited by the bidder, or the bond shall become payable to the City in case the lowest responsible bidder or bidders depositing the same does not, within the time set forth in the plans and specifications, enter into a contract with the City. Faithful performance of the contract shall be guaranteed by an undertaking in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the sum bid, the undertaking being that of a corporate surety satisfactory to the City. The contract shall be accompanied by a labor and materials bond of a corporate surety, also in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the bid for any bid in an amount not exceeding $5 Million Dollars; and in a sum as required by Civil Code S~ction 3248 for any bid in excess of $5 Million Dollars. In case cf a forfeiture, as provided for in the preceding sentence, the d~faulting bidder shall be liable to the City for any additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in connection with o])taining full and complete performance of the particular work of improvement with which this Notice to Bidders is concerned. 3. Bids will be received by the City of South San Francisco, Califo]~nia, at the Purchasing Office, City Hall Annex, 315 Maple Avenue, South San Francisco, California 94080, at the date and time specifJ~ed in the notice inviting sealed proposals.
