CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL
OF A GRANT APPLICATION FOR LIBRARY
SERVICES AND CONSTRUCTION ACT FUNDS
WHEREAS, the federal Library Services and Construction Act
provides funds for improving services to immigrant populations; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco operates libraries
which may qualify for such grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the funds, if awarded, would be utilized to purchase
materials for immigrants which would provide assistance in the
process of their adaption to the United States.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco, California, as follows:
1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an
application for the grant funds specified in the recitals of this
Resolution.
2. The City Manager is further authorized to execute any and
all documents necessary to assure that the City obtains and
appropriately expends such funds.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a requ]ar meeting held on the llth day of
September , 1991 by the following vote:

Councilmembers Richard A. Haffey, Gus Ni~olopulos, John R. Penna,
Roberta Cerri Teglia, and Mayor Jack Drago
