HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 138-1991 RESOLUTION NO. 138-91 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT CIP-5 TO THE 1991-1992 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR WATER QUALITY CONTROL PLANT IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a construction contract for the Water Quality Control Plant Project elements originally projected for fiscal year 1992-93 must be awarded in fiscal year 1991-92; and WHEREAS, prior appropriation was $10,400,000.00 for fiscal year 1991-92; and WHEREAS, current appropriation of funds for the Improvements are $10,354,000.00 which are consisting of $1,661,300.00 in fiscal year 1990-91, another $5,495,900.00 in fiscal year 1991-92, and another $3,196,800.00 from the fiscal year 1992-93 funds to be appropriated in fiscal year 1991-92; and WHEREAS, the actual costs of the.project are $10,888,642.00 requiring the appropriation of $534,642.00 from the sewer fund in fiscal year 1991-92; and WHEREAS, the City Council also finds the project expenses will be greater than originally anticipated; and WHEREAS, pursuant to previous authorization and published notice, bids were publicly opened, examined and declared on October 24, 1991, for Water Quality Control Plant Improvements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that: 1. It hereby adopts this budget amendment to appropriate an additional $534,642.00 from sewer fund to the Water Quality Control Plant Project and $3,196,800.00 from the fiscal year 1992-93 funds to be appropriated in fiscal year 1991-92; and 2. The Council hereby awards the contract to Kirkwood-Bly, Inc., the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount of Eight Million One Hundred Three Thousand Dollars ($8,103,000.00). 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a written contract with the successful bidder. 4. The Council hereby rejects all other proposals or bids. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a special meeting held on the 27th day of November AYES: NOES: ABSTAIN: ABSENT: , 1991 by the following vote: Councilmembers Richard A.
