HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 02-2011RESOLUTION NO. 02-2011 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A TACTICAL COMMAND POST VEHICLE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,000 AND AMENDING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT' S FISCAL YEAR 2010-11 OPERATING BUDGET WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ("City") staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the Police Department to purchase a tactical command post vehicle in an amount not to exceed $50,000 in order to augment the Police Department's authorized vehicle fleet; and WHEREAS, in previous years, the Police Department fielded two Ford Expedition SUVs as incident command vehicles, however replacement vehicles were not purchased at the end of those vehicles' service lives; and WHEREAS, the purchase of a tactical command vehicle will bring the Police Department up to the standard of surrounding police agencies and will support the Police Department with effective, immediate response to incidents; and WHEREAS, the cost to purchase and equip the vehicle will be covered with drug seizure funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the Police Department to purchase a tactical command post vehicle in an amount not to exceed $50,000 and amends the Police Department's Fiscal Year 2010-11 Operating Budget. * * ~ I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 12th day of January 2011 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Pedro Gonzalez, and Karyl Matsumoto, Vice Mayor Richard A.
