HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 04-2011RESOLUTION NO.04-2011 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000 FROM THE BAY AREA SUBURBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE (SUASI) TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE (USAR) TRAINING SITE EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AN AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING; AND AMENDING THE 2010/11 OPERATING BUDGET. WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (City) staff recommends the acceptance of a grant in the amount of $50,000 from the Bay Area SUASI to purchase additional USAR training site tools and equipment; and WHEREAS, the grant represents 100% of the total funding for the USAR training site tools and equipment; and WHEREAS, Bay Area SUASI regulations require the City to sign an amendment to the executed memorandum of understanding in order to ensure that the grant funds are used for their designated purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby: 1. Accepts an additional grant from the Bay Area SUASI in the amount of $50,000 and appropriates the same amount to the Fire Department budget for the purchase of USAR training site tools and equipment. 2. Authorizes the City Manager to sign an amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding governing the use of the grant funds. 3. Amends the 2010/11 Fire Department operating budget to reflect the budgeting allocations. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 12th day of January 2011 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addie~o, Pedro Gonzalez, and Karyl Matsumoto, Vice Mavor Richard A.
