CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO~ STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE CITY/COUNTY
ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS AS THE PUBLIC
AGENCY OF THE SAN MATEO COUNTY INTEGRATED
WASTE MANAGEMENT TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, Public Resources Code Sections 4000 et seq., requires that each
County convene a task force to assist in coordinating the development of city
source reduction and recycling elements prepared pursuant to Article 1
Icommencing with Section 41000) of Chapter 2 and to prepare the countywide
siting element required pursuant to Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 41700);
and
WHEREAS, the membership of the task force shall be determined by the Board
of Supervisors and a majority of the cities within the County which contain a
majority of the population in the County; and
WHEREAS, the City/County Association of Governments is being established
as a joint ~owers entity for the purpose of developing state mandate plans
such as the Integrated Waste Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of this City Council to designate the
City/County Association of Governments as the local task force for purposes
of the Integrated Waste Management Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco tlat the City/County Association of Governments is hereby designated
as the local task force for development of the County's Integrated Waste
Management ~lan.
BE IT FJRTHER RESOLVED this resolution shall be effective upon the formation
and establishment of the City/County Association of Governments.
