CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SIX POLICE
PATROL VEHICLES DURING FY 2010/l.l BY UTILIZING
$160,000 OF VEHICLE REPLACEMENT FUNDING
EARMARKED FOR FY 2011/12 AND FY 2012/13 AND
AMENDING THE EQUII'MENT REPLACEMENT 2010/2011
OPERATING BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ("City") staff recommends that the City Council
adopt a resolution authorizing the Police Department to purchase six (6) Police Patrol Vehicles
(PPV) in an amount not to exceed $160,000 during Fiscal Year 2010/11; and
WHEREAS, in 2010 the South San Francisco Police ]Department purchased two (2) Ford
PPVs through a competitive bid process, and seek to take advantage ofthose terms for this purchase;
and
WHEREAS, purchasing six (6) PPVs during the current Fiscal Year will save the City up to
$60,000 in vehicle replacement funds during Fiscal Year 2011/12 and Fiscal Year 2012/13.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the Police Department to purchase six (6) Police
Patrol Vehicles in an amount not to exceed $160,000 and amends the Equipment Replacement Fiscal
Year 2010/11 Operating Budget.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 26th day of January
2011 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Pedro Gonzalez, and Karyl Matsumoto,
Vice Mavor Richard A. Garbarino and Mavor Kevin Mullin
