CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF $25,000
FROM ABAG PLAN IN GRANT FLJ1~fDING FOR THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF RISK MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES
AND AMENDING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S 2010/11
OPERATING BUDGET
WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of $25,000 in grant funding from ABAG Plan
for the implementation of risk management activities; and
WHEREAS, over the past five years, the Police Department has maintained two interview
rooms that are in compliance with current digital recording standards; however, the Police
Department now requires an additional interview room as well as the overhaul of the current
recording hardware in order to support litigation related to the interview process; and
WHEREAS, the grant funding will be used to cover the; cost of the new interview room, the
recording hardware overhaul and risk management activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts the $25,000 in grant funding from ABAG Plan and
amends the Police Department's Fiscal Year 2010/2011 Operating Budget to reflect this increase of
funds.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 26th day of January
2011 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Pedro Gonzalez and Karvl Matsumoto,
Vice Mayor Richard A. Garbarino and Mayor Kevin Mullin
