CZTY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT
FOR THE REPAIR OF ORANGE PARK
MEMORIAL POOL
WHEREAS, the filtration system of the Orange Park Memorial Pool was
seriously damaged in the October 17, 1988 earthquake; and
WHEREAS, the pool (the City's only municipal pool) may not be used
until the repairs are done; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Contracts Code Section 20168 the City
Council may by a four-fifths vote of its members award a contract without
public bi(ding if the public interest and necessity demand.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco, that:
1. The public interest and necessity requires the immediate expenditure
of public money to make emergency repairs to the Orange Park Memorial Pool
damaged ir the October 17, 1988 earthquake.
2. A contract for the repair of the pool in an amount not to exceed
$43,000.0C is hereby awarded to Aquatic Commercial Industries. The City
Manager is authorized to execute the contract.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 13th day of December

Councilmembers Jack Draqo, Gus Nicolopulos, John R. Penna,
Roberta Cerri Teqlia, and Mayor Richard A. Haffey
