HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 163-1989 RESOLUTION NO. 163-89 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF EXCESS RIGHT-OF-WAY TO HOMART DEVELOPMENT COMPANY WHEREAS, Industrial Way was vacated by the City when Gateway Boulevard was created as a public street between Oyster Point and East Grand Avenue and thereafter Executive Drive was created; and WHEREAS, two strips of land, one of approximately 0.159 acre and one of approximately 0.177 acre remain in City ownership subsequent to the vacation; and WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the City to return these strips of property to the tax rolls and beneficial to Homart Development Company and/or Marriott Corporation to use the property for access landscape and utility p~rposes; and WHEREAS, Streets & Highway Code Section 8350 et seq. permits the legislative body to dispose of property resulting from a street vacation by sale or exchange in the manner and upon the terms and conditions it deems appropriate; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that it hereby approves of the sale of two strips of property described in Exhibit "A" and Exhibit "B" to the Homart Developmert Company for $25,000.00 and authorizes the City Manager to take all necessary steps to effectuate the transfer. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 13th day of December , 1989 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Jack Drago, Gus Nicolopulos, John R. Penna, Roberta Cerri Teglia, and Mayor Richard A.
