CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISNING THE SOUTN SAN
FRANCISCO CONFERENCE CENTER BOARD
WHEREAS, on November 7, 1989, the voters of the City of South San
Francisco approved Measure "C" which authorizes an increase in the City's
transient occupancy tax for the purpose of establishing and operating a
conference center in the City of South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish a board consisting of
members o~ the City's hospitality and tourist industry for the purpose of
advising che Council on matters regarding the establishment and operation of
the confe-ence center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that the South San Francisco Conference Center Board is hereby
established subject to the following provisions:
1. Purpose
The purpose of the board shall be to:
advise the City Council on matters involving the establishment,
operation, maintenance and repair of the South San Francisco
Conference Center;
(b) review, comment, and make recommendations on the proposed
operating budget for the conference center;
(c) assist in marketing and promoting the center;
(d) review, comment and act upon the operating procedures which are
developed pursuant to Council-adopted policies.
2. Membership
The board shall consist of seven (7) members appointed by the City
Council according to the following criteria:
Two Councilmembers appointed by the Mayor.
Two individuals representing the hotels/motels located within South
San Francisco.
9ne individuals representing restaurants located within South San
Francisco.
)ne individual representing the airline operating out of San
Francisco International Airport.
One resident of South San Francisco employed in the
visitor/hospitality industry.

The term of each boardmember shall be four years and until a
is appointed, except that commencing January 1, 1990, the first term
boardmembers shall be two years and four years for two boardmembers.

Meetings
The board shall at a minimum meet on a monthly basis. Meetings

Boardmembers appointed by the Council shall receive the compensation

Clerk's Duties
The City Clerk shall establish and maintain a record of the name,
telephone number and dates of appointment and termination for each
