CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDED RECOMMENDATIONS
OF THE CITIZENS REVIEW COMMITTEE FOR THE 1989-90
DOWNTOWN COMMERCIAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, a Downtown Commercial Rehabilitation Program was approved by
the City Council as part of the federal Community Development Block Grant
Program ICDBG); and
WHEREAS, on July 22, 1987 the City Council adopted a resolution approving
Downtown Central Commercial Rehabilitation Pilot Program Guidelines; and
WHEREAS, on October 14, 1987 the City Council adopted a resolution
authorizirg the Mayor to appoint a Citizens Review Committee for the
Downtown Rehabilitation Pilot Program; and
WHEREAS, on August 9, 1989 the City Council approved the recommendations
of the Citizens Review Committee for the expenditure of the 1989-90 budgeted
amount; ard
WHEREAS, the Committee and staff recommend some amended funding for certain
projects for the 1989-90 program year;
NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the "Amended Citizens Review Committee Recommendations 1989-1990
CDBG Downtown Commercial Rehabilitation Program", attached as Appendix I and
the "Description of Amended 1989-90 Downtown Commercial Rehabilitation Projects",
attached as Appendix II are hereby approved.
BE IT ~URTHER RESOLVED that the staff is authorized to work with each
applicant to implement the projects in accordance with the approved
appropriations.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting he'd on the 13th day of December

DESCRIPTION OF AMENDED 1989-90 DOWNTOWN
COMMERCIAL REHABILITATION PROJECTS
States 'Mario's) Tavern, 200-202 Grand Avenue - Removal of wood
cladding doors and windows, install new doors, windows and
siding, repair marquee, improve moisture protection, plaster, re-
tile and paint Grand and Cypress facades.
Galli Building, 328-332 Grand Avenue - Replacement of damaged
marble panels, install new fabric awning, moisture protection,
paint exterior wood surfaces, and provide new windows and doors.
Bronstein Music. 363 Grand Avenue - Remove existing signs and
asphalt shingles, repair dryrot, provide moisture protection,
install or replace clay tile, patch cement plaster, install new
fabric awning and paint Grand Avenue fagade.
Paul Schreier Photography. 352 Grand Avenue - Remove existing
sign, paint exterior of building and install new fabric awning.
Metropolitan Hotel Building. 216 Linden Avenue - Remove corner
storefront, awning and entry door, repair damaged bricks, repair
balconies and fire escapes, install new marquee, repair dryrot,
install new storefront windows, provide moisture protection,
repair existing wood sash window frames, paint wood and metal
surfaces and install new lighting fixtures.
Weight City Gym/Costa's/Anchor Drugs - Remove existing metal
siding and signs, re-install original windows, patch cement
plaster, provide new signs and paint Grand and Maple facades.
