ITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING FUNDING FOR THE
PROPOSED WESTBOROUGH SWIMMING POOL
WHEREAS, the Westborough Community Swimming Pool Fundraising and Advisory
Committee is seeking funds to construct a swimming pool in Westborough Park;
and
WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Commission has recommended that $150,000
of park in-lieu fees be made available for a three year period to assist the
Committee, in attracting outside funding; and
WHERE. gS, at present the park in-lieu fee fund balance for the Westborough
area is less than $44,000 but it is anticipated that $165,000 will be obtained
from the St. Francis Terrace Subdivision; and
WHEREAS, concerns have been' raised about the need to evaluate the City's
'park & recreation facilities needs city-wide through a master plan before
funds are permanently committed to any particular activity;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that it hereby authorizes commencing February 1, 1990, designating
a reserve of $150,000 of park in-lieu fees for the proposed pool in Westborough,
subject to the following:
Only park in-lieu fees generated from development in the Westborough
a-ea shall be so designated.
T~e designated money only will be available if and when the park
in-lieu fees are received from developers.
By February i of 1991 and of 1992 the Committee must demonstrate that
is annually has raised one million dollars.
February 1, 1993, if three million dollars is not raised to construct
;wimming pool, the designated funds will revert back to the general
rk in-lieu fee fund.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted bylthe City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the lOth day of January , 1990 by the following vote:
