HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 17-2011RESOLUTION NO. 17-2011 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO JMB CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE EAST OF 101 SEWER IMPROVEMENTS PUMP STATION NO. 8 REHABILITATION PROJECT IN AN AT/IOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,278,690 _ WHEREAS, City of South San Francisco ("City)" staff issued a Notice Inviting Bids for the East of 101 Sewer Improvements Pump Station No. 8 Rehabilitation Project ("Project"); and WHEREAS, on January 11, 2011, staff received ten (10) bids in response; and WHEREAS, JMB Construction, Inc. of South San Francisco, California was the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the Project contract to JMB Construction, Inc., in the amount of $1,278,690; and WHEREAS, the Project is included in the 2010-2011 Capital Improvement Program ("CIP") and sufficient funds have been allocated to cover the 1?roject cost. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the (:ity Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby awards the construction contract for the East of 101 Sewer Improvements Pump Station No. 8 Rehabilitation Project to JMB Construction, Inc. of South San Francisco, California, in an amount not to exceed $1,278,690, conditioned on JMB Construction, Inc.'s timely execution of the Project contract and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to executed bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with the Project construction contract. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the documents on behalf of the City Council upon timely submission by JMB Construction, Ines signed contract and all other documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of February 2011 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Pedro Gonzalez, and Karyl Matsumoto, Vice Mavor Richard A. Garbarino and Mavor 1{evin Mullin NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: ATTES'lc. ~ C' v Clerk
