CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN
APPLICATION WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF RESOURCES RECYCLING AND
RECOVERY 2010/2011 TIRE-DERIVED PRODUCT GRANT
PROGRAM, FOR $14,040 TOWARDS CONSTRUCTION OF
THE WESTBOROUGH PARK IMPROVEMENTS CIP 510-
99999-PK 1012/51-13232-0730
WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the filing; of an application for $14,040 in
grant funds with the California Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), 2010/2011 Tire
Derived Product (TDP) Grant Program for the Westborough F'ark Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, these grant funds will be used to pure:hase tire-derived rubber surfacing
materials in the renovation of the outdated playgrounds at Westborough Park; and
WHEREAS, CalRecycle requires a resolution certifying the approval of application by
the applicant's governing body to certify the application packet as complete; and
WHEREAS, the application contains assurances that: the City must comply with as an
applicant; and
WHEREAS, the City, if selected, will enter into an agreement with the State of California
to carry out the playground replacement project as part of the Westborough Park Improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby approves the filing of an application for $14,040 in grant
funds from the CalRecycle 2010/2011 Tire-Derived Product (grant Program.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of
February 2011 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Pedro Gonzalez, and Karyl Matsumoto,
Vice Mayor Richard A. Garbarino and Mater 1{evin Mullin
