CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO
THE GENERAL PLAN (HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE)
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 65302(c) and Title 7, Division 1,
Article 10.6 of the Government Code (Section 65580 et seq.) require that
California cities adopt a Housing Element to their General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco adopted a Housing Element on
September 2, 1981, and adopted revisions on July 25, 1984, which now again
must be revised in accordance with Government Code Section 65588(b); and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco has
reviewed t~e proposed Amendment and has held a duly noticed public hearing
and considered all comments submitted to it before and during the hearing
related to the Amendment; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission concluded the Amendment will result in
a Housing Element which conforms to the requirements of Article 10.6 and its
adoption would result in an integrated, internally consistent and compatible
statement of policies for the City of South San Francisco, and therefore
recommended its adoption to the City Council;
NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco finds that:
1) The Amendment to the General Plan of the City of South San Francisco
updating the Housing Element (a copy is on file in the City Clerk's Office) is
consistent with the remaining elements of the General Plan; and
2) The Amendment is in compliance with the requirements of Article 10.6
and Section 65302(c) of the Government Code and other applicable state laws;
and
3) The Amendment is consistent with the comprehensive land use plan
adopted by the San Mateo Airport Land Use Commission pursuant to Section 21675
of the Pub'ic Utilities Code; and
4) Adoption of the Amendment will result in an integrated, internally
consistent and compatible statement of policies for the City of South San
Francisco; and
5) A proper Negative Declaration was prepared for the proposed Amendment
in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970, as amended.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 27th day of June , 1990 by the following vote:
