HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 9-1989RESOLUTION NO. 9-89 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING LIMITS FOR THE CONCENTRATION OF CHEMICALS IN WASTEWATER WHEREAS, the City operates a Water Quality Control Plant for the collection and treatment of wastewater; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 14.08.210 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code the City Council is to establish limits on the concentration of chemicals permitted to be discharged; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that it hereby establishes concentration limits, and that no one shall discharge or cause to be discharged any wastewater into the public sanitary sewers if the concentration of the constituents of the wastewater exceeds the following limits: Constituent Maximum Permissible Concentration (mg/1) Arsenic 1.00 Cadmium 0.10 Chromium 0.50 Copper 1.00 Cyanide 1.40 Lead 1.10 Mercury 0.10 Nickel 2.30 Phenol 1.00 Silver 7.90 Zinc 3.00 Oil & Grease 200 Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons 7.14 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the limits specified above become effective simultaneously with the effective date of Chapter 14.08, Water Quality Control, of the South San Francisco Municipal Code. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a reqular meeting held on the 11th day of January , 1989, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.
