CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CITY COUNCIL
HANDBOOK REGARDING REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS, staff recommends amending the City Council Handbook to clarify the reporting
requirements for meals.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco hereby authorizes amendments to the City Council Handbook, attached as Exhibit A.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San. Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 23 day of February
2011 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Pedro Gonzalez, and Karyl Matsumoto,
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: None
Vice Mayor Richard A. Garbarino and Mayor Kevin Mullin

Definition of Nominal Value
Meals with a value of $15 or less are considered to be of nominal value. Any meal with a value
that is not nominal must, however, be reported if the value of the meal or a combination of meals
exceeds the $50 dollar annual reporting requirement for gifts.
