HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 93-1989 RESOLUTION N0.93-89 CITY COUNCIL' CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE USE OF TAXES ALLOCATED FROM THE DOWNTOWN/CENTRAL REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING AND INCREASING THE COMMUNITY'S SUPPLY OF LOW AND MODERATE INCOME HOUSING OUTSIDE THE PROJECT AREA WILL BE OF BENEFIT TO THE PROJECT WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of South San Francisco has prepared ~ proposed Redevelopment Plan for the Downtown/Central Redevelopment Project wihich would result in the allocation of taxes from the Project Area to the ReUevelopment Agency of the City of South San Francisco for purposes of redevelopment; and WHEREAS, Section 33334.2 of the California Community Redevelopment Law {Health &i Safety Code Section 33000 et seq.) requires that not less than twenty percent of all taxes so allocated be used by the Agency for the purpose of improving and increasing the community's supply of low and moderate income housing available at affordable housing cost, unless certain findings are made; and WHEREAS, Section 33334.2(g) of the Health & Safety Code provides that the Agency may use such funds outside the Project Area if a finding is made by resolution of the Agency and the City Council that such use will be of benefit to the PrOject. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco~ that the use of taxes allocated from the Downtown/Central Redevelopment Project fDr the purpose of improving and increasing the community's supply of low and mDderate income housing available at affordable costs outside the Project Area and within the City of South San Francisco will be of benefit to the Project. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 28th day of June , 1989 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Jack Drago, Richard A. Haffey, Gus Nicolopulos, and Mayor Roberta Cerri Teglia NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: None
