CITYi COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RULE 4.01 OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS
WHEREAS, Rule 4.01 of the City of South San Francisco's Personnel Rules and
Regulatiolns currently requires the City Council to review and adopt all changes
to the Ciity's job classifications; and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to continue to review all new job classifications
or reclasisifications which have a fiscal impact but would like to have minor
changes in job descriptions having no fiscal impact reviewed and approved by the
Personnel Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that Rule 4.01 of the Personnel Rules and Regulations is hereby
amended to read as follows:
4.01 Responsibility
The Appointing Authority shall be responsible for the development
and administration of the City's Classification and Pay Plan.
Amendments to job specifications for existing positions shall be
submitted by the Appointing Authority to the Personnel Board for
its adoption. Job specifications for newly created positions or
reclassifications or restructuring of existing positions shall be
submitted by the Appointing Authority to the City Council for
adoption by resolution.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 26th day of July , 1989 by the following vote:

Councilmembers Jack Drago, Richard A. Haffey, Gus Nicolopulos,
and Mayor Roberta Cerri Teglia
