CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING GLORIA FRANCES TAORMINA
WHEREAS, Gloria Frances Taormina will be retiring on May 2, 1988, after
serving the City for twenty seven (27) years; and
WHEREAS, Gloria began work for the City in 1961 in the City Clerk's Office
as a Typist Clerk. She later advanced to Account Clerk, Senior Account Clerk
and Accounting Technician in the Finance Department, handling everything from
business licenses to budget and payroll; and
WHEREAS, during her years with the City Gloria has served on several City
committees and was instrumental in the City's conversion to the computer system.
Gloria is also a member of the Municipal Finance Officers Association and was
the Treasurer of the South San Francisco Municipal Employees Association; and
WHEREAS, during her 34 years as a resident of South San Francisco, Gloria
has been President of the All Souls Mother's Club and Women's Club, as well as
a member of the Parish Council. Gloria has served as a member of the Federal
Grand Jury and is a member of the South San Francisco Historical Society; and
WHEREAS, Gloria's fellow employees will miss her assistance, her sense of
humor and her gourmet cooking skills; and
WHEREAS, in addition to staying involved in the community, Gloria will now
be able to travel and spend more time with her husband Thomas, her daughter Lisa
and her son Larry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco t~at it does hereby express appreciation to Gloria Frances Taormina
for her dedicated services to the City of South San Francisco and does order
this Resolution incorporated in the official records of the City as this Council's
expression of appreciation and its wishes for her long and happy retirement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 13th day of April , 19 88 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Richard A. Haffey, Gus Nicolopulos,
aqd Roberta Cerri Teglia
