HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 67-1988 RESOLUTION NO. 67-88 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE, COASTAL AND PARK LAND CONSERVATION ACT OF 1988 WHEREAS, Proposition 70 would provide $776 million statewide to protect wildlife~habitat, park lands and coastal areas and to provide recreational opportunities for the benefit of present and future generations of Californians; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that these lands are a vital and necessary part of our community and help.to preserve the quality of life in the City of South San~Francisco; and WHEREAS, these lands are an essential and irreplaceable part of our State's unique natural heritage and must be preserved; and WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco will receive over $188,000 from the passage of the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Conservation Act; and WHEREAS, a statewide coalition of civic and conservation groups and businesses has formed as Californians for Parks and Wildlife to seek qualification and voter approval Of the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Initiative on the June, 1988 state ballot. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby support the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Conservation Act of 1988. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regularl meeting held on the 25th day of May , 1988, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, and Roberta Cerri Tegiia NOES: ABSTAIN: ABSENT: Councilmember Gus Nicolopulos Councilmember Jack Drago Counciimember Richard A. Haffey
