CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR LIBRARY
SERVICES AND CONSTRUCTION ACT GRANT FUNDS FROM
THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY (BAY AREA ADULT
LEARNER CONFERENCE)
WHERE , Congress, by enacting Public Law 84-597, as amended, has made
available funds in the form of formula grants for library services and
construct on; and
WHERE~S, these funds may be used for books and other library materials,
library eluipment, salaries and other operating expenses; and
WHERE~S, the South San Francisco Public Library has developed a project
entitled Bay Area Adult Learner Conference" to present a one day conference
for adult learners in the literacy program in order to bring together adult
learners o share interests and skills and to learn new approaches to reading
and writi g problems; and
Services
it appears that this program is eligible to receive Library
Construction Grant Act funds;
NOW, , BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Franci;co that the City Librarian is hereby authorized to make application
for Librar' Services and Construction Grant funds in the amount of Nine Thousand
Four Dollars ($9,400.00) to implement the program as set forth in
Exhibit "A attached.
I herel.y certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 22nd day of June , 1988, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Richard A. Haffey, Gus Nicolopulos,
Roberta Cerri Teglia, and Jack Drago
