C~TY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING JOAN HAMILTON
WHEREAS, Joan Hamilton was appointed a Park and Recreation Commissioner
on June 15, 1978 and had admirably served the City of South San Francisco in
that position for nine years; and
WHEREAS, prior to serving on the Park and Recreation Commission, Joan
served on the San Bruno Mountain Committee and became interested in the
preservation of Sign Hill and that interest led to her serving from 1974
through mid-1978 on the City's Beautification Committee; and
WHEREA~, Joan shouldered the responsibility of chairing the Park and
RecreationlCommission during the years 1981 and 1985, served as liaison to
the Beaufi~iation Committee and served on the Architectural Committee; and
WHEREAS, throughout her years of service Joan has been a conscientious
Commissioner who spent a lot of time going to facilities and attending and
assisting with programs; and
WHEREAS, in addition to her commission activities Joan has been busy
teaching e'ementary school, participating in the Aquatics Club (1977-1983)
and the Un"versity Women's Group; and
WHEREAS, she has now retired to the mountains to indulge in the outdoors
and hikingi and desires to look to the future not the past.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco does hereby express its gratitude to Joan Hamilton for her
dedicated services to the Park and Recreation Commission and the City of South
San Francisco.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 25th day of November , 19 87 by the following vote:

R~ berta Cerri Teglia, and Jack Drago
