C~TY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING JOHN VETTER
WHEREAS, John Vetter is retiring after serving the City of South San
Francisco! for twenty-eight (28) years; and
WHERE~S, before joining the City John began his education by attend-
ing the Samuel Gompers School in San Francisco and graduating from South
San Francisco High School; and
WHEREAS, John began work for the City as a Maintenance Man for the
Public Works Department on December 28, 1959; and
WHEREAS, On May 1, 1964 he received a promotion to Sweeper Operator
and was assigned to a 3-wheel diesel driven sweeper in which he covered
a separate location of South San Francisco each day- and
WHERE~S, John's position has been very demanding having to contend
with traffic citizen's complaints dust and the noise of the diesel
engine; anid
WHEREAS, during his tenure with the City of South San Francisco, John
has provenl to be a conscientious employee with an excellent attendance
record; and
WHEREAS, John has shown his concern for others by regularly donating
blood to the Peninsula Blood Bank; and
WHEREAS, all of John's fellow employees wish him well in his retire-
ment in or,Jer that he may pursue his interests in fishing, sports, ham
radio and most of all his dreams of traveling,

NOW, iTHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Fran{isco that it does hereby express its appreciation to John Vetter
for his dedicated services to the City of South San Francisco and does order
this Resdlution incorporated in the official records of the City as this
Council'si expression of appreciation and its wishes for his long and happy
retiremen!t.
