COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A iRESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
AS. A SISTER CITY OF ATOTONILCO EL ALTO, JALISCO, MEXICO
WHERE~S, the citizens of South San Francisco wish to promote friendship
and undersitanding among the many ethnic groups within its jurisdiction; and
WHEREAiS, there are numerous cultural, civil and educational organizations
of Latin-American origin actively working within the City; and
WHEREAS, both the Cities of South San Francisco and Atotonilco el Alto,
wish to prbmote a greater understanding and unity among their citizens, and
to sponsorlactivities to meet these ends; and
WHEREAS, the essence of the Sister City program is to foster the spirit
of freedomland civic progress through the interchange of ideas and expe-
riences; ahd
WHEREAS, the City of Atotonilco el Alto has approved Sister City affilia-
tion with the City of South San Francisco;
NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco hereby approves and designates the City of South San Francisco
as the Sister City of Atotonilco el Alto.

adopted byithe City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting helld on the 25th day of November , 19 87 by the following vote:
